The Flowtron "bug zappers" may not be the most stylish looking, but they are definitely the most durable and most functional. I've used these devices for more than 30 years, and every time I have strayed away from the Flowtron brand I have regretted it. Currently, my BK-40D - 40 watt model - does double-duty as a permanent (hard-wired) pole-mounted night light and bug zapper in my back yard 365-days-a-year. Flowtron is simply the best product of its kind on the market, and has earned my highest recommendation: BUY IT. You won't be disappointed.

All we have it seems in these parts of Oregon is a product called The Stinger. It should be callled that because you get stung when you buy it! But this Flowtron is SO much better! Two days after we got here, we had no more bugs in our house. I love it and would love it if we could get this product here in Oregon!
Works Great So FarAug 09, 2010
Have my Flowtron up and working for about 2 weeks now. I have placed a bucket under unit to collect the dead bugs! So far it is working better than the Stinger unit I previously owned (only lasted two seasons until the generator system fried!). Time will tell if it outlasts the Stinger, but so far I am pleased with the construction and results. Current weather conditions in PA. have resulted in higher than normal Mosquito populations and the collection in my bucket shows they are being zapped! I hope the bulb replacement is infrequent!

Flowtron is probably the best of the "bug zappers" but it does nothing to kepp skeeters away. Mosquitos are not attracted by light. And the human body gives off more carbon dioxide then the little mosquito attractant does so guess who the blood suckers head for ?
However they knock the hell out of everything else.And some of these are benificial to flowers and your garden. So if you like killing bugs then this is the one to use, But if its mosquitos your after try some deet. There is no easy way to get rid of these pesky fellows.

We bought it month ago, did not use it every day, but the bulb broke now. So disappointed.
