 A great, affordable solution!May 14, 2010
Although another reviewer has complained about the smell, and it does have that vinyl, shower curtain smell at first, it really is a very good solution if you have bed bugs, or any other pest in your mattress. The smell fades in a short time and it solves the problem very well. There are others out there, but this one does the trick at a fraction of the price. If you've dealt with bed bugs, or are dealing with them, you are in for a laborious, expensive ordeal, and this product really helps lighten the load both in terms of the psychological burden of sleeping on an infected mattress as well as not adding too much the seemingly endless costs of cleaning, pesticides, throwing things out... and will completely save your mattress. To me, a few days of shower curtain smell is worth it. A bit of advice though, if you use this as the cover for your top mattress - not just the box spring, you will be more comfortable if you buy yourself a washable, fabric mattress pad to go over the vinyl and under your sheets. Then you can wash all that bedding in hot water once a week, or as needed, until the infestation is fully dealt with. Also, be careful when putting it on, as vinyl can rip. You may want to have a roll of duct tape handy to patch any small tears if that does happen, and it should be fine, though I didn't have that problem.

It might work just fine but the vinyl smell is horrible. I have had it for a week and it still smells. The whole apartment smells like vinyl. Imagine putting 100 new shower curtains in your apartment at the same time and you will get some idea of the smell.
I can't really return it but I will throw it out and buy a cover made from polyester or nylon.
